Windows To The Soul (Modigliani)
This is a reproduction of a painting by Amedeo Modigliani (1884 – 1920). This painting illustrates his unique approach to portraiture (surreal elongation of faces and necks). Modigliani had little success while alive, but he achieved great popularity after his death. He died of tubercular meningitis at the age of 35 in Paris. Storytellers often depict him as a bohemian artist - a young, drug-taking, drunken womanizer. Behind this facade lay a compassionate man loved and admired by his friends.
